Manayunk Bike Race

Manayunk Bike Race Details
The world’s most competitive cyclists turn their sights on Philadelphia for the annual TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship every June, when about 300,000 fans line an arduous road course to watch hundreds of elite pro cyclists whip through some of Philadelphia’s most beautiful streets.
The scenic 14.7 mile course begins on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and takes riders down Kelly Drive, up the feared Manayunk Wall, a 17% grade hill rising sharply off the banks of the Schuylkill River and through Farimount Park before heading back to the finish line on the Parkway.
The race is a culmination of a weekend of related festivities that are great for the entire family.
For the first time in 28 years, the public will have the chance to ride the iconic course before the pros. The Bicycling Magazine Open offers serious amateurs and casual cyclists the chance to take up to three laps on the 14.7 mile Philadelphia Championship Road Course. Participating riders will receive a timing chip to record times for each complete lap, including times for the infamous Manayunk Wall.
The Bicycling Magazine Open will be held from 7 a.m.-10 a.m., before the pros take to the course. Be sure to stick to watch the top pros from 30 nations during the TD Bank Philadelphia International Championship and the women’s Liberty Classic.
